To the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Exaltation of the Holy Cross:

The human heart is searching for it's forgiveness, and its thoughts and its searching are visible to the Virgin Mary through the wound of Her heart. When a spear or a sword pierces the human body, there is left a painful and bleeding opening, through which the inner may perceive the outer. It is in this way that the Mother of God perceives the world: through her bleeding wound, when She sees Her crucified Son, nailed to the cross and dying in horrible agony with the words: "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? (Matthew, 27:46). She hears the taunts of the passers by, who said: "He saved others, but he can't save himself! He's the king of Israel! Let him come down now from the cross, and we will believe in him." (Matthew, 27:42) It is also a wound, through which the Virgin Mary sees the hearts of the people who humiliate her Son. Spiritually neglected, lost and perishing, they, in reality, more than many are in need of Her prayers and Christ's forgiveness.
