Delegation from the Parish took part in the conference of the Diocese of Sourozh
Yearly conference of the Diocese of Sourozh took place on the 23rd - 25th of May. This year the subject of conference was "Church and the World".
A substantial delegation from the Parish of St. Kentigern took part in the conference. Deacon Michael, Sergey Sokolovsky (the warden) and three other members of the Parish (Anatoly, Andrey and Konstantin) were present. They have brought a portable icon screen, the Altar and Communion Table and other accessories for the service to the conferencewith the blessing of the Diocesan heirarchy. Members of the Parish were actively singing, Deacon Michael read from the Book of Epistles, canonical hours and Six Psalms, Sergey Sokolovsky was helping in the Altar during the Episcopal celebration.
Archpriest Michael, who serves the Parish, spoke at the conference on the subject of "Church and the world: two systems of values".
During the conference the delegation met with the Bishop Elisey of Sourozh. At the meeting the subject of the place of worship in Glasgow was discussed. Members of the delegation, headed by the warden of the Parish, explained the ruling bishop their position and informed him about the meeting of the Parish Council as well as its unanimous decision that the choice of the place of worship should be made by vladyka.
The services will be taking place in the premises of the Parish school Anderston-Kelvingrove until the permanent place is found as per the received blessing.
